Saved Views on the Pressure Washing Dispatch Board: The Screens You Open Every Morning
Watch any owner schedule for a week and you will notice they look at the same few screens over and over. Tomorrow for Rig 1. Tomorrow for Rig 2. This week's commercial stops. Today's skips. Setting the same filters every time is a small waste that happens dozens of times a week. Saved views turn each of those screens into one click.
Faster Rescheduling Starts Here
Handling skips the same day, as described in Rescheduling and Skips: What Happens to a Pressure Washing Job That Didn't Get Done, is much easier when the screen that shows them is always one click away. That is the whole idea behind saved views: the screens you need for your routine should be ready when you are.
What a Saved View Is
On the PressureWashingBossPro dispatch board, you can filter and arrange the Scheduled List in different ways — by rig, by day and so on. A saved view stores that setup under a name. Next time, pick the view instead of setting the filters again.
It sounds minor. In practice, it is the difference between a scheduling routine that takes ten minutes and one that takes twenty, every single day of the season.
Views Most Pressure Washing Owners Save
Every company builds its own set, but a few show up again and again:
- Rig 1 — tomorrow. The residential rig's next day, ready to check and route.
- Rig 2 — tomorrow. The commercial rig's next day, with the timed stops at the top.
- This week — all rigs. The big picture for balancing days and spotting overloads.
- Today — progress. What has been started, completed and skipped so far.
- My rig. For owner-operators who also run a trailer, a view of just their own stops.
Name views plainly, the way you would say them out loud. “Commercial tomorrow” is easier to find than a clever name you will forget.
Seasonal views are worth adding too. In spring, a view of next week across all rigs helps you see how far out the backlog runs before you promise a new customer a date. In the slower months, a view of the commercial route alone keeps the steady work front and center while residential calls are quiet.
Views for Different People
If you have office help, the person scheduling may want different views than the owner. The scheduler might live in “This week — all rigs” and the per-rig views. The owner, checking in from the truck, might only need “Today — progress” and their own rig.
Office user roles let you decide who can do what in the system. Saved views simply make each person's part of the job quicker.
Views That Match Your Routine
The best set of saved views follows the order you actually work in. A typical evening routine for a two-rig company:
- Open “Today — progress” and reschedule any skips.
- Open “Rig 1 — tomorrow.” Check the job sizes, auto-route, place timed stops.
- Open “Rig 2 — tomorrow.” Same check, with the early commercial stops first.
- Glance at “This week — all rigs” to see what is coming and leave room for weather.
That is four clicks to move through the whole routine. The full routine is laid out in A Daily Scheduling Routine for a Pressure Washing Company.
Views and Printing
A saved view for a single rig and day is also the natural thing to print. Some crew members like a paper route sheet on the clipboard alongside the phone, especially on long commercial routes where they want to see the whole list at once. Open the view, print the route sheet, and it matches the phone because both come from the same board. More on that next in the printing guide.
Keep the List Short
It is tempting to save a view for every situation. Resist. A list of twenty saved views is almost as slow as setting filters by hand. Keep the views you use weekly, and delete any you have not opened in a month. If a new rig or a new type of work comes along, add a view for it then.
When your setup changes — a second rig, a new commercial route, a crew member who now runs their own trailer — revisit your views. The board should reflect how the company runs today, not how it ran last season.
Small Habit, Big Payoff
Saved views will never be the headline feature of any scheduling software. They are one of the features you notice most when they are missing. To see how they fit with the dispatch board, auto-route and route sheets, visit the pressure washing scheduling software page.
