Choosing a Pressure Washing Crew App: What to Check Before You Switch

Switching the app your crew uses every day is a real decision. It touches every job, every washer and every customer. Pick well and the office phone gets quieter within a month. Pick badly and you are back on paper sheets by summer. This checklist covers what a pressure washing company should look at before switching, whether you are coming from paper, spreadsheets or generic field-service software.

Start With the Rollout in Mind

The ways a rollout goes wrong are covered in Mistakes to Avoid When Rolling Out a Crew App to Your Pressure Washing Crew. Keep them in mind while you compare apps. The best app on paper is the wrong choice if your crew will not use it.

1. Does It Know What a Washing Job Is?

This is the big one. Generic field-service apps give each job an address and a notes box. A washing job needs more, and the crew needs to see it at the curb:

Ask: does this show on the crew's phone, right under the address, without opening three screens? Do details entered on the estimate carry onto the job when it is approved, or does someone retype them?

2. Can It Hold Access Notes?

Spigot location, gate code, dog, plants to cover, cars to move. Check that access notes live on the address (so they show every visit) and that past notes from earlier jobs show on the card too. A crew app without good access notes means the office keeps answering the same questions by phone.

3. Is the Crew's Side Simple?

Count the taps per job. A washer should be able to navigate, read the card, Start, take photos and Complete without a training manual. Ask whether each washer signs in with their own PIN, so photos, jobs and hours are tied to the right person, and whether access turns off cleanly when someone leaves.

4. Does It Handle Photos Well?

Before-and-after photos are a washing company's best sales tool and its best protection on complaints. Check that photos are taken in the app and saved with the job, not left in a washer's camera roll. Why that matters is covered in Before-and-After Photos: The Best Sales Tool a Pressure Washer Has.

5. Does the Customer Hear From It?

Automatic texts change how washing jobs go: cars moved, windows shut, dogs inside. Look for automatic on-the-way and arrived texts, customer-chosen alerts, two-way texting that goes to the office, and a customer app where the homeowner can see the route, pay invoices and update their card. Check how texting is counted and what is included in each plan.

6. Does Completing a Job Bill It?

Ask what happens when the washer taps Complete. The answer you want: the invoice is created from the job and the card on file can be charged on the spot. For commercial work, check that accounts like a restaurant group or HOA can get one monthly statement covering every location, labeled by address.

7. Will It Run on Your Crew's Phones?

Check iPhone and Android. Check older phones. Ask whether it needs an app store download or runs in the browser and installs to the home screen. And ask honestly about signal. Most crew apps, PressureWashingBossPro included, need a data connection to load the route and record each tap. Any vendor that claims otherwise should show you exactly what works offline.

8. Does the Office Side Fit the Routes?

The crew app is only as good as the routes behind it. Look for recurring work by minimum days between visits, a Waiting List of what has come due, a dispatch board by rig and day, auto-routing from the shop, and crew GPS on the office map. Check CSV import for your existing clients and whether imported addresses land on the map.

9. What Does It Cost, Really?

Look for plain monthly pricing with the crew app included, not charged per washer as an add-on. PressureWashingBossPro is $59/month on Start, $89 on Pro and $199 on Crew, with the crew app on every plan and a 14-day free trial with no credit card.

Test It on Real Jobs

Do not decide from a sales page. Set up a week of real addresses with real job details, put the app on two washers' phones, and run real jobs. The live demo shows the screens; a trial shows whether it works for your crew. For the full rundown of what the PressureWashingBossPro crew app does, head back to the pressure washing crew app page.
